Sustainability at Ladysmith Federation

Our Federation  is committed to achieving net zero by 2030, and we are taking meaningful, measurable steps to make this goal a reality. Across the Federation, we are working closely with Net Zero to support and strengthen our ongoing action plan, ensuring that every school is equipped to make informed, sustainable choices. Within our own community, we are improving waste monitoring and efficiency, reducing our environmental footprint through smarter resource use, and encouraging active travel with initiatives such as Walk and Wheel. We are also exploring our school environment in greater depth, helping pupils understand how everyday actions shape the world around them. By combining whole‑Federation collaboration with local, student‑led initiatives, we are building a culture of responsibility, curiosity, and climate awareness. Together, we are taking confident steps toward a cleaner, greener future for everyone.

Our Sustainability work will consider three specific drivers:

1. Changes to the school site

2. Behavioural changes

3. Community links
